Johanna Morris
Birth Doula & Perinatal Educator
About
Hi! I'm Johanna, owner of Starlight Birth Services. I'm a birth doula and perinatal educator providing birth support, childbirth education, lactation support, and cloth diaper education for families throughout Central Oregon. I love helping parents feel informed, confident, and supported as they prepare to welcome a new baby. Whether you're expecting your first child or growing your family, my goal is to walk alongside you with encouragement, practical education, and compassionate support every step of the way. I'm passionate about lifelong learning and continue to expand my education in lactation, childbirth education, and public health so I can provide families with current, evidence-based care. As a mom, former gestational surrogate, and birth professional, I know firsthand that every pregnancy and birth is different. There is no "perfect" birth story—and that's okay. My role is to help you understand your options, prepare for the unexpected, and feel supported no matter how your birth unfolds. I welcome families from all backgrounds, including first-time parents, LGBTQ+ families, neurodivergent families, and those navigating high-risk pregnancies or previous difficult birth experiences. I believe everyone deserves respectful care, accurate information, and someone who truly listens without judgment. It is a privilege to be invited into such an important chapter of someone's life. My mission is to hold space for every birth, every body, and every journey while helping families feel empowered to make the choices that are right for them. My hope is that every family I work with feels seen, heard, empowered, and never alone.
Care Philosophy
I don't believe there's one "right" way to give birth. Whether you're planning an unmedicated birth, an epidural, an induction, a cesarean birth, or simply taking things one decision at a time, you deserve to feel respected, informed, and supported throughout your experience. As your doula, I'm here to provide evidence-based information, answer questions, offer continuous support, and help you feel confident in making the decisions that are right for you and your family. I believe informed consent, compassionate care, and open communication create the foundation for care that honors each family's goals, values, and choices. My hope is that when you look back on your birth, you remember not only how your baby entered the world, but also how you were cared for. That you felt heard, respected, supported, and never alone. That's what "holding space for every birth, every body, and every journey" means to me.
