About
Hello, I'm a "scrunchy", science and evidenced based mom of 4 with a deep passion for caring for mothers and babies. I graduated and started working as an RN in the ICU back in 2007. I learned a lot but knew this environment wasn't for me. After being a stay a home for many years, I opened up a Doula business here in Bend and worked with babies and families for many years, I met a lot of amazing families that opened up their 'space' to me. While working with them, I felt the breastfeeding part of my education was lacking. Personally, I had an "easier" time breastfeeding and didn't have the education to help those that were struggling. This led me to going through the UCSD Lactation program and getting licensed as an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). I'm now running a private business, Nurse with Sarah, and offering in home and office visits for families. I love to see families prenatally to discuss goals and go over education. I love working with c-section moms who are better off resting and not running all over town to see providers. And I love being able to work as a team with other providers to help families meet their goals.
Care Philosophy
I believe in equipping parents with evidence-based knowledge so they can confidently steer their own feeding journeys. I prioritize a low-stress, patient atmosphere, allowing parents and babies the time they need to learn together. I strive to replace worries with clarity, helping families find comfort however they choose to feed.
